The brochure outlines types of abuse, dispels myths, and suggests initial steps to keep safe. DO YOU SEE IT? - Brochure This brochure educates readers that domestic violence can occur in more ways than just physical abuse. The brochure also outlines the various services available through GMDVP’s Client Services Department. YOUTH BROCHURE A bright colorful page that is ready for a youth (or adult!) to fold up into a ‘cootie-catcher’ or ‘fortune-teller.’ Full of information on healthy and unhealthy relationships, the cootie-catcher makes for an effective means to engage youth on the subject of dating and domestic violence. One of GMDVP’s most successful educational materials, youth will generally read ALL the way through the dense text under the guise of playing a game. And, to top it off, people generally stick it in their back pocket and walk off with it to play with it later – rather than tossing it in the trash. PALM CARDS GMDVP’s palmcard is a thin flexible plastic card the size of a credit card to be easily slipped into someone’s pocket or wallet. The card conveys the ‘Do You See It?’ image and message that encourages readers to see domestic violence as more than just physical abuse. The card also conveys the statistic that 1 in 4 gay men experience domestic violence and has GMDVP’s hotline number and website address. POSTERS HE LOVES ME NOT – Large Poster (22” x 21”) A striking laminated green, white and black poster which features a close up of an eye of a man. The prominent text reads; ’He Loves Me Not.’ Additional text conveys the statistic that 1 in 4 gay men experience domestic violence and has GMDVP’s hotline number and website address. DO YOU SEE IT? – Small Poster (8” x 11”) The image on the poster is of a shirtless man seated on the floor embracing his knee to his chest with the majority of his back to the camera – suggesting somber reflection or possibly someone retreating from abuse. The prominent text on the reads ‘Do You See It?’ and it encourages readers to see domestic violence as more than just physical abuse. The card also conveys the statistic that 1 in 4 gay men experience domestic violence and has GMDVP’s hotline number and website address. T-SHIRTS GMDVP T-shirts are white with Green and black printing. The front of the shirt is printed with ‘GMDVP’ across the chest and the back has the organization’s name and contact information running down the spine of the shirt. BEER COASTERS FOR BAR OUTREACH GMDVP feels that a visible presence in the social scene of the GLBT community is vitally important to raise awareness and inform the community of available services. GMDVP’s bar coaster is a sturdy green, white and black cardboard coaster that prominently displays the text: ‘HE LOVES ME NOT’. Smaller text on the coaster provides the hotline number and the statistic that 1 in 4 gay men experience domestic violence. The coaster is 3.5” in diameter.
